Who are we and what do we do?
Every parent of a child attending St. John the Baptist Aided School at Pentrobin automatically becomes a member of the HSA when their child starts at the school. Grandparents and other relatives and friends are also encouraged to get involved in the activities of the HSA which are aimed at raising additional funds for the school.
As you will soon realise St. John’s is big on community and joining in with the HSA is a great way to get involved whether on an ad hoc basis, by helping out at fundraisers or by becoming a more active committee member. The HSA is a great way to find out what happens at the school and what events are planned whilst gaining a whole host of new friends. It doesn’t matter how much time you have to spare we ask for as little or as much as you are willing to give.
The aim of the HSA is to raise much needed funds for the school to help provide the additional resources needed to make the learning and social activities experienced by the children as rewarding as possible.
This is becoming increasingly important with the reduced level of funding Flintshire County Council will be receiving in the coming years due to government cuts in public spending. Many events organised by the HSA are designed with fun in mind and the involvement of all the children and the larger community are very important to us.
