Who are we and what do we do?

Every parent/carer of a child attending St. John the Baptist Aided School at Penymynydd automatically becomes a member of the PTA when their child starts at the school.

The aim of the PTA is to raise much needed funds for the school to help provide the additional resources needed to make the learning and social activities experienced by the children as rewarding as possible. The PTA isn't just for parents/carers - relatives and friends are also encouraged to get involved in our fun PTA organised activities which are aimed at raising additional funds for the school.

Fund raising events have become increasingly important with the reduced level of funding Flintshire County Council will be receiving in the coming years due to government cuts in public spending.

St John's is one big community and joining in with the PTA is a great way to get involved in raising funds to benefit your child's education. You can help out on an ad hoc basis by helping out at fundraisers or by becoming a more active committee member, everyone is welcome. The PTA is a great way to find out what happens at the school and what events are planned whilst gaininig a whole host of new friends. It doesn't matter how much time you have to spare, we ask for as little or as much as you are willing to give.
