Nursery Engagement Sessions - Early Literacy Development

This term, we hosted three Parent Engagement sessions for our Nursery families, each focusing on a key area of early literacy development. The first session, Fun with Phonics, introduced parents to playful ways of supporting their children's sound recognition through interactive games and songs. The second session focused on Reading Together, highlighting the importance of shared reading and offering practical tips for making story time enjoyable and meaningful at home. The final session explored Early Writing Skills, where children and their families had the opportunity to experiment with mark-making and fine motor activities using a range of stimulating resources. All three sessions were very well attended, with enthusiastic participation from both parents and children, who thoroughly enjoyed exploring the activities provided.
